Skills for Movement and Contact Improvisation
27.3. – 29.3.2026
Join Dagmar Bock and Sebastian Grubb for a weekend intensive drawing from The Axis Syllabus biomechanics practices, Contact Improvisation techniques, and somatic explorations. We’ll dive into personal and group research as a collective laboratory for developing our movement potential.
Dancing Anatomies invites exploration of movement through an understanding of biomechanics and applied anatomy, cultivating a deeper awareness of the body in motion. This approach empowers movement that respects the healthy range of motion of one’s skeletal joints, while organizing the connective tissue network that recycles energy and helps us move and balance dynamically. Our focus is on creating the optimal conditions for a wide range of movement choices, allowing the freedom to follow one’s own dance. Movement principles and practiced patterns can serve as a springboard for playfulness and creativity in the shared dance.
This year we also invite you to an outdoor warm-up practice: gentle stretching, some strengthening, and playful interaction with the environment of the park and playground.
